Frequently asked questions
What would you like to know?
What can I expect at my first appointment?
We listen to your concerns, review your history, complete an appropriate examination and records, and explain findings and options in plain language. The $295 new-patient appointment includes a comprehensive oral examination, general scale and clean, two bitewing X-rays, an OPG panoramic X-ray, fluoride treatment, and a clear explanation of findings and next steps.
What should I bring?
Bring your health-fund card, a list of relevant medications and any recent dental records or X-rays if available. Let us know about medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy or anything that may affect care.
Can you help if I feel anxious?
Yes. Tell us what would help. We can adapt communication and pacing, agree on a pause signal and discuss appropriate comfort or sedation options where clinically suitable.
Do you see children and families?
Yes. We provide calm, prevention-led dental care for children and connected care for families. Early positive visits can help children become familiar with the dental environment.
Do you accept health funds?
Bring your health-fund card and our team can explain the available claiming process. Your individual rebate depends on your fund and level of cover.
Do you offer payment options?
We offer DentiCare interest-free direct-debit payment plans for eligible treatment. Our team can explain current arrangements and provide written treatment estimates before care begins.
Will treatment begin at my first appointment?
The first visit is primarily for assessment, prevention and planning. Urgent needs are prioritised appropriately, while further treatment proceeds only after findings, options and fees have been discussed.
What does “Aesthetics. Function. Airway.” mean?
These are three perspectives that may inform assessment and planning: how teeth and smiles look, how the mouth and bite work and—where relevant—how oral structures and habits relate to breathing and development. Not every patient needs every pathway.
Can a dentist diagnose sleep apnoea?
No. Sleep apnoea is a medical diagnosis. A dentist may identify oral or airway-related signs, discuss dental considerations and coordinate referral or care with an appropriate medical practitioner.
What if I have dental pain or swelling?
Call 02 9519 6098 so our team can assess urgency. Do not rely on an online form for urgent care. Severe swelling, difficulty breathing, uncontrolled bleeding or major facial trauma may require urgent medical attention.
