A Dental Clinic That Feels Different

At Elite Dental Newtown, we've thought carefully about every part of your visit, not just the treatment itself.

Your appointment starts in our consultation room, where our dental team sit with you face to face before anything clinical happens. No equipment, no overhead lights, just a conversation about what you need and what you're worried about, at your pace.

When you're ready to move through, the treatment room has a TV positioned in your direct eyeline, music playing, and a few small touches designed to take the edge off. Put something on you actually want to watch and listen to. We handle the rest.

Our Sedation Options

Relative Analgesia (RA)

Also known as “happy gas”, this is the gentlest way to settle nerves.

Happy gas combines nitrous oxide with oxygen and you breathe it in through a soft mask. You will feel calm and a little lighter within minutes, while staying fully awake and able to talk with us.

It's well suited to children and to adults who'd just like to take the edge off. The effects wear off fast, so you can resume normal activities straight after treatment.

IV Sedation (Twilight Sedation)

For patients with high dental anxiety or undergoing complex procedures, IV sedation (also called twilight sedation) helps you stay deeply relaxed and comfortable throughout treatment.

You'll feel calm and detached from what's happening, but remain responsive when needed.

It's given through a small tube in the back of your hand or arm, and administered by our skilled anaesthetist, Dr Kevin Lai, who works directly with our dental team to look after your wellbeing and peace of mind.

Oral Sedation

For some patients, certain anti-anxiety medications taken about an hour before your appointment can make all the difference.

You'll remain awake and responsive throughout treatment but feel much calmer and more relaxed. It's an excellent choice for patients who want a stress-free visit without needles or masks.

We do not provide general anaesthesia (where you are completely unconscious), but if your treatment requires it, we can refer you to a trusted specialist.
